The grid runs through the work across Paper, Panel, and Space. On the panel, it becomes a structure against which the material is physically worked, and resisted. Felt, thread, abrasion, pyrography, stitching, sanding, burning, piercing, and drilling subject the surface to processes of cutting, marking, removal, and accumulation. Repetition, alignment, and a limited colour range impose regulation, while the physical labour of making introduces density, deviation, and the residue of duration. The panel holds these forces without resolving them.
